Inkforma brought live graphic recording to the City of Los Angeles’ LA Rising meeting at Pico House, within El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument. The conversation focused on community hubs, with live illustration helping make the ideas visible as they unfolded.

I love when my work brings me into conversations about the places where people come together. For this meeting, my role was to listen, identify the key themes, and translate the discussion into a hand-drawn visual summary.

Making Community Conversations Visible

Conversations about community hubs connect people, places, and possibilities. Graphic recording gives those conversations a shared visual reference: something participants can look at while they speak, reflect on during the meeting, and revisit afterward.

Working live means following the conversation closely. I combine participants’ words with drawings, visual connections, and clear headings to build a picture of what the group is discussing.

The artwork grows with the meeting, bringing individual contributions into a larger story.

Live Visual Note-Taking at Pico House

Supporting LA Rising at El Pueblo brought a conversation about community into a setting closely connected to Los Angeles’ identity.

As a graphic recorder, I approach each meeting with curiosity. What matters to this group? Which ideas keep coming up? How can I capture the conversation in a way that feels clear, engaging, and true to the people in the room?

That is what I bring through Inkforma: careful listening and a creative lens, turning spoken ideas into visuals people can connect with.

Graphic Recording for Community Meetings in Los Angeles

Live graphic recording can support community meetings, workshops, planning sessions, and public-sector events. It gives groups another way to follow a discussion and creates a visual record that can support continued reflection.

For organizations bringing people together around complex topics, a hand-drawn summary can make the conversation easier to revisit and share.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to support the City of Los Angeles and LA Rising, capturing a conversation about community hubs through live visuals.
